Hörmann KG enters India

Reputed German manufacturer of residential and industrial doors, and dock loading technology, Hörmann KG, has announced the setting up of a direct Indian subsidiary at CeMAT India 2008.
The Indian operations will be headed by Marcus Schroder, Managing Director, Hörmann India Pvt. Ltd.
A graduate in mechanical engineering, Marcus worked in Product Management and headed a UK sales and service subsidiary before focusing on market development for industrial equipment in Asia. He moved to Mumbai in 2007 and joined Hörmann in 2008.
Hörmann India Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated on 9th September 2008. Prior to that, Hörmann has been serving the Indian market through a network of distributors, and Hörmann India will continue to support and grow this network.
Speaking on the occasion, Alexandra Kempe, Regional Sales Manager – Asia, Hörmann KG, who has been with the company for over 12 years said, “We believe that there is always scope for quality products in any market. Hörmann is a specialist in its area, with a proven track record and a bewildering array of products to suit any requirement that has ever been thought off till date. We are sure customers here in India will see value in our products.”
Hörmann KG has already been successful in setting up sizeable operations in Asia, including a manufacturing plant and large sales operations in China.
Alexandra confirmed that Hörmann products for the Indian market will be directly manufactured and shipped from their German manufacturing locations.
“While we don’t see an immediate uptake in the nascent logistics segment, we already have some very good customers in the industrial manufacturing segment, and we see this market growing faster in the near term,” says Marcus, “In addition to that, being the leading European provider of door solutions, many foreign investors coming to India know us and incorporate our solutions into their facilities in order to streamline workflows and to protect their staff, products and plant.”
He, however, expects the logistics segment to eventually mature and become more quality conscious.
