Defense Logistics Agency Renews Amerilert Contract To Provide Personnel Alerting Services
By NewsDesk
Omnilert®, LLC, maker of Amerilert®, the leading unified mass notification system for mid-sized corporations, non-profits and government clients, today announced that the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) activities at the Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center have renewed a contract for the Amerilert unified mass notification system. The DLA Installation Support team at Battle Creek, Michigan, is using Amerilert to securely broadcast critical news and public safety information to all DLA employees and contractors associated with the facility.
“We needed a way to instantly and reliably reach our personnel and contractors in case of an emergency,” said Alan Egnatuk, Installation Emergency Manager for DLA Installation Support at Battle Creek. “In the last three years, we have used Amerilert for tornado warnings, office opening delays, and scheduled fire alarm tests. People get their messages quickly and it works well for the hearing impaired during fire alarms.”
“We had a long list of requirements when we put our contract out for bid, and Amerilert met all of them.”
Formerly known as the Battle Creek Sanitarium and later as the U.S. Army’s Percy Jones General Hospital, the Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center today hosts the DLA Disposition Service headquarters and the DLA Logistics Information Service. Both activities are supported by site team from DLA Installation Support. The DLA Disposition Services staff oversees a global program to dispose of excess property received from the military services. The inventory changes daily and includes thousands of items: from air conditioners to vehicles, clothing to computers, and much more. The DLA Logistics Information Service strives to enhance global defense readiness through logistics information solutions.
