Cubic Global Tracking Solutions, the asset visibility solutions provider of Cubic Corporation, received cryptographic algorithm validations from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for the company’s mist™ technology that is utilized in Cubic’s mesh asset tags, mobile mesh gateways and fixed mesh gateways.

The Cubic mist™ AES-CCM and mist™ DRBG algorithms were recently added to the NIST algorithm validation lists.  These two algorithms are the key to implementing encryption systems meeting Federal Information Processing Standards 140-2 requirements (FIPS 140-2).

Cubic’s mist™ algorithms have been implemented on Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI’s) CC2530 system-on-chip (SoC) hardware, which supports the IEEE 802.15.4 wireless standard.  The cryptographic algorithms are incorporated in Cubic’s mist™ Crypto module, which implements an ultra-low power, robust, mesh radio network targeted for logistics applications. This validation means the Cubic mist™ Crypto module meets the standards and guidelines for information security.
